A rather long walk on varied terrain with many glacial features and a variety of plant & animal species. Blazed in white paint, with occasional old red fleur-de-lis.

Trailhead(s):
  • North end of Brook Road.
  • Austin Road east of Dodge Road.
  • Dodge Road near Crockett Ln.
  • Dodge Road across from Public Works garage.
Allowed:Hiking, hunting, XC skiing (limited), mountain biking (limited), horseback riding (limited)
Prohibited:Wheeled motorized vehicles, snowmobiling, alcohol

Description

From North to South, departs from Hammond Brook Trail in Joe English Reservation; crosses brook and climbs to ridge; descends gradually to Austin Road. Passes west of Transfer Station (trail relocated) and east of Gowing Woods development to a landing on Dodge Road, then south along esker and old road; crosses Fieldstone Drive and continues on old road to its terminus on Dodge Road.

Mountain bikers please note: The northern section is a tough ride so biking is allowed on the Hemlock Trail (on Joe English Reservation) as an alternate route (or to make a loop). NO OTHER JOE ENGLISH TRAILS ALLOW BIKES. Thanks for your cooperation.
